Huayang Cold roll forming is a continuous, high-volume metal forming process used to create specific cross-sectional profiles from coiled sheet metal, such as steel, aluminum, or brass. As the name suggests, the process is performed at "cold" (room temperature), distinguishing it from hot rolling. By passing a long strip of metal through a series of paired, rotating rollers, the material is gradually bent and shaped until it achieves the desired final geometry.

The fundamental principle is incremental bending. A coil of flat metal is fed into a roll forming line containing multiple stations (or stands) of roller dies. Each successive pair of rollers performs a small, precise portion of the total bend. This gradual approach prevents work hardening and material fracture, allowing for complex shapes to be formed without altering the metal's thickness. The rollers, custom-designed for each specific profile, rotate continuously, enabling the production of parts of virtually any length with consistent cross-section tolerances.

Cold roll forming offers several distinct advantages over other forming methods like pressing or extrusion:
